Help build a downtown waterfront
for all
We are in an important moment in Boston's history. Mayor Wu and city officials are committed to involving all voices in shaping the future of our city. This includes working on a waterfront planning process for downtown that prioritizes public access, equity, and resiliency on a regional scale.
We need your help to achieve this change. Past planning for Boston’s waterfront has rarely included citywide voices, resulting in spaces that are not welcoming, inclusive, or reflective of our community. We have a new opportunity to use our collective power to shape the future of Boston’s public waterfront in a way that equitably reflects our diverse perspectives and experiences.
The New England Aquarium has launched a multi-faceted effort to educate elected officials, engage Boston’s residents, and build allies from across the city in this effort. learn more
Questionnaire
For too long, Boston’s waterfront has lacked creativity and inspiration that one of the world’s most innovative waterfront cities deserves. Why? Because relatively few voices have shaped its future. Despite the limited resources and additional stresses created by the pandemic, development pressures have made it critical to address this issue head on and foster a broader perspective.
We have a unique opportunity to create a plan that advances long-term vision, addresses the challenges of climate change, and fosters equity.
We welcome you to fill out our questionnaire on what YOU would like to do, see, and inspire along the downtown waterfront.
Together, we can save Boston’s waterfront and advance an accessible, inclusive, and climate resilient waterfront for all.
